Takagism - Crimson Room Solution
A lot of visitors come here
looking for a solution to this entertaining mini-game, mentioned once upon a
time on my blog. As with most quests, it is more fun to solve alone, but
getting stuck is frustrating so some hints might help.
Note: I did not write the game - only this walkthrough. This is the makers' website.
You can find the game here.
- It might help to play the game in full-screen mode,
as some of the hotspots (points you click) can be quite tricky to find.
You can do this by pressing F11 in Internet Explorer.
- You'll need Flash. (DUH)
- If you're still stuck, highlight the tips below to
read them line-by-line.
(Original version - Argus, 26/2/04)
- Spoilers ahead!
- The
thin ring is found in the dish on the dresser where the CD player is
- The
CD is found in the top left drawer of the dresser
- The
piece of paper is found in the top right drawer of the dresser
- There
is a cassette underneath the dresser, find it by clicking on the floor
around the dresser
- The
silver key is in the window when you open the curtain
- A
thick ring is found by opening and closing the curtain multiple times. it
will fall down to the floor after a few clicks
- Golden
key: look underneath the pillow
- Metal
stick: click around the area where headboard and mattress meet
- Battery:
click on the floor while facing the blank wall. Click around the area
towards the left. Keep clicking. Trust me, it's there.
- Power
cord: open bottom left drawer with golden key
- Box: open
bottom right drawer with silver key
- Normal
key: plug power cord to CD player, turn CD player on and open disc tray.
These are all of the items, and you now need to assemble the box.
Click on the little box icon to expand it. Put the two rings in the little
round holes and the metal stick in the long, narrow slit. Click the box
and it will open. Place battery and cassette. Click box again and a movie
will play. Watch it closely. Pay attention to the end: the dancer points
at a star that appears on the wall. You need to place your mouse pointer
over the star (don't click yet). When the movie finishes, click there and
the outline of a box would appear. Click on the box outline and a safe
will appear. To open the safe, use the normal key and a combination.
- Hint on finding the
combination: remember that almost every item has a purpose. Skip no
detail, the combination could even reside on a website. :)
- It seems a lot of
people are having problem with the combination for the safe. The next hint
is a major spoiler.
- Read the contents of the piece of paper you find earlier.
- Visit the URL.
- I'm going to explain the entire code business - only read on if the URL doesn't work for you.
- There are two versions of this game. The earlier one accepted the code 1994, which was written on the website the URL originally pointed to. That page no longer exists. The newer version requires a daily-changing code that can be retrieved from (copy & paste the URL in your browser): http://takagism.fasco-cs.com/yellow_chamber.html.
- If you got a code but it doesn't work, and you've tried 1994 and it doesn't work either, you should try entering the URL in the exact same browser window in which you played Takagism. You should also try again in a few hours. This is probably a bug in the game.
Follow this walkthrough and you will surely get out of the room.
Takagism is a flash computer game created by Toshimitsu Takagi. The entire game is brilliantly located inside one room, and the entire purpose is to escape. Very challenging, very fun. I have written walkthru's to two of these rooms: the Crimson room and the Viridian room. Will write more walk throughs when I get the time and energy.
